Lighting is just one of the many things you need to consider during your renovation, and with all of the fixture and bulb options, it can be overwhelming. Today, we’re sharing 3 bulb options to consider depending on the type of space and needs you have.

LEDs

LED lights are versatile and are great for residential and commercial spaces. The LEDs project greater light than the energy it consumes and lasts 5x longer than most bulbs. Through producing little to no heat and excluding mercury, LEDs are one of the safer lighting options compared to traditional bulbs.  Another amazing feature of these lights is that it has a broad color index and can be dimmed, aiding the efficiency of these lights. With virtually no UV radiation, LED lights are great for those concerned about art pieces and other objects that can be damaged, perfect for museum or historical settings. There are no limits to the uses of LEDs from streetlights, office, and warehouse lighting, and recessed lighting seen in many homes.

CFLs

Another great and efficient lighting option are CFLs! These bulbs reduce the energy required to output light and can be dimmed, making these bulbs very popular in residential environments. These bulbs contain mercury so they must be handled with care, and they also emit a greater amount of UV light than the LED bulbs. Some of the common uses of these are in reading and table lamps, contained ceiling fixtures, and other decorative pieces such as sconces.

Halogen

The third lighting option is often seen in homes for those looking to give a warm ambiance to their space. These lights utilize halogen gas and tungsten filament to promote a longer lifespan, though they are not as efficient as CFLs. These bulbs also get very hot due to the white-hot optics produced by the tungsten filament which in turn promotes efficiency. Whether it is for automotive headlights, work lights, spotlights, or even just for decorative purposes; these lights are a great choice!
